Sarbanes Oxley Act

Sarbanes-Oxley is the name of a group of federal securities laws that require detailed disclosures of financial information by publicly traded U.S. companies.

This law has very strong anti-retaliation provisions if you provide information regarding conduct that you believe constitutes a violation of federal securities fraud statutes or SEC rules. Claims under Sarbanes Oxley are also time sensitive so you must contact an attorney if you believe you have been subjected to adverse action as a result of your reporting illegal conduct.
