Kim Worth is a trial lawyer with a proven track record of results.  Kim has represented hundreds of individuals and corporate clients in matters involving all aspects of discrimination, wrongful termination, and whistleblower cases. 

Kim’s plaintiffs’ practice focuses on representing employees in all aspects of employment law including claims of disability discrimination and retaliation, sexual harassment, gender, pregnancy, race, religion, national origin, age discrimination, and wage and hour disputes. Kim has handled a number of whistleblower lawsuits, prosecuting claims such as the refusal to participate in illegal conduct and retaliation for disclosing illegal conduct in the workplace. 

Kim’s defense practice focuses on representing employers in claims for wage and hour disputes and employment discrimination, in addition to providing corporate clients with best practices employment/HR related policies, counseling management on employment law issues and defending employers sued in state and federal court for employment related lawsuits.  Additionally, Kim accepts cases involving contract disputes, high asset family law cases, securities litigation and business litigation.

Prior to founding Thrasher Worth, Kim worked for a well-known Plaintiffs’ employment practice and then switched to work for a defense firm. Kim now handles cases on both sides ranging from actions in state court, federal court, arbitrations and mediations.

Before entering private practice, Kim served as a senior assistant district attorney for Fulton County where she prosecuted child molestation, murder, aggravated assault, and vehicular homicide cases. Kim’s experience as a felony prosecutor has been invaluable to her practice; she is comfortable taking on any representation, no matter how complicated.

Recent Successes

Kim has had great success in taking on representations on either side of employment cases. In a 3 month period, Kim was able to win two jury trials as both the Plaintiff’s attorney in one case; defense counsel in the other.

In 2014, Kim served as lead counsel in Fulton County Superior Court where she represented the former director of the State Ethics Commission who alleged she had been forced out of her job when she investigated the ethics complaints filed against Governor Deal during his gubernatorial campaign in 2010.  After a 5 day trial, a Fulton County jury agreed and awarded Kim’s client $ 700,000 in compensatory damages.  Statutory damages increased the award to $ 1.2 million in damages making it  one of Georgia’s largest whistleblower verdicts in recent years.

In the same year, Kim secured a defense verdict for an employer sued for violations of  Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Fair Labor Standards Act in an action that had been pending for 4 years.  Kim was successful in securing a dismissal of the race and gender claims prior to the trial.  In January 2014,  Kim served as lead counsel in the jury trial of the Plaintiffs’ wage and hour claims which took 6 days to try,  After the defense verdict, Kim again successfully defended her client against the plaintiffs’ appeal of the jury’s verdict.
