Jill has extensive experience practicing business litigation, with a focus on creditors’ rights, fraudulent transfer claims, construction liens, and a wide variety of matters that arise from asset and property management. She recently argued before the Georgia Supreme Court regarding a lender’s ability to pursue a guarantor despite failing to confirm a foreclosure sale of the collateral. Jill has also recently argued before the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals to seek affirmation of summary judgment in a race discrimination case. She is eagerly awaiting decisions in both matters.

Representative Cases: York v. RES-GA LJY, LLC, 2016 Ga. App. LEXIS 155 (March 16, 2016)(cert. granted; oral argument February 6, 2017)(Obtained summary judgment against guarantors despite failing to confirm foreclosure sales)

Ware v. Multibank 2009-1 RES-ADC Venture, LLC, 327 Ga. App. 245 (2014)(Established precedent for successor-in-interest to failed bank’s ability to rely on bank records in pursuing borrower)

Representative Experience:

  • Won summary judgment for owner of commercial property in race discrimination suit filed by rejected lease applicant
  • Successfully negotiated settlement on behalf of national internet sales company after seeking injunctive relief and damages for trade secrets violations and breach of fiduciary duty
  • Won Summary Judgment for Business that sold property and was sued by broker for commission
  • Successfully mediated settlement on behalf of 26 noteholders after filing suit for fraudulent inducement to invest $2 million in start-up company
  • Negotiated settlement and transfer of routes of express delivery company to rightful owner, after obtaining emergency injunctive relief to halt conversion of route by party who had breached purchase contracts
  • Successfully mediated settlement on behalf of general contractor and agent of developer involving outstanding balance over $1 million due on stalled project
  • Successfully negotiated settlement on behalf of national internet sales company after seeking injunctive relief and damages for trade secrets viola
